State-of-the-art fire-fighting technology to be launched at Intersec 2007 from 21-23 January.

The latest state-of-the-art fire-fighting technology for industry and public sectors will be launched at Intersec 2007, the show's organisers Messe Frankfurt Middle East have announced. Intersec Middle East, which is the region's largest trade show on Fire, Police & Homeland Security, Commercial Security and Safety & Health will be held at the Dubai International Conference and Exhibition Centre from 21-23 January.

The three-day event, which is to be opened by key speaker, Brigadier Rashid Al Matrooshi, Head of Dubai Civil Defence, will be used as a platform for thousands of industry experts to exchange ideas and introduce their latest products and ideas to the Middle East market. Speaking of the level of technology expected at Intersec 2007, Matrooshi stressed the importance of the event in terms of increasing levels safety for the public and those working within 'at risk' industries.

He said, 'Safety measures have developed a lot during the past five years, and a number of legislations have been issued which make it mandatory for buildings/economic establishment owners and users, to implement the international safety requirements required in the UAE.'

Dubai Civil Defence has a large stand at Intersec, they will show special cars and equipment for fire fighting and prevention. Civil Defence will also host a dedicated outside demonstration showing high rise helicopter rescue and fire fighting techniques.

More than 600 exhibitors have already registered for Intersec 2007, among them, some of the world's most respected manufacturers of fire safety equipment.

Currently dubbed 'the world's toughest trucks, the U.S -based Oshkosh Truck Corporation - a leading manufacturer of specialty trucks and truck bodies for the fire and emergency, defense, concrete placement and refuse hauling markets, will be among the leading exhibitors at Intersec 2007. The company, which is famous for its developments in robotic technology, has also recently been awarded a US$1 million, contract to further develop their unmanned ground vehicle technology.

Schlingmann, one of Europe's leading fire truck builders in Germany, will be presenting their latest breakthrough products. The company is famous for supplying 200 fire trucks a year to professional, industrial and volunteer fire brigades across Europe.

A number of leading companies will be presenting the latest safety suits that protect against burns and chemical hazards within the oil, gas and industrial manufacturing industries.

Equipment for safety within the construction industry will also be addressed, with several leading companies in the field of safety harnesses, masks and helmets launching their products at the show.

Tyco Fire and Security will be showcasing the latest digital video technology in security and fire safety solutions.

Watania is also taking part at Intersec 2007. They are famous for providing design solutions, supply and installation of fire protection systems such as fire fighting and fire alarm systems.

SFFECO will be showcasing top-of the-range sprinklers systems, hydrants, pumps, fire alram and detection system, etc.

Firex and Naffco are local market leaders in the field of fire fighting equipment; their products include all types of fire extinguishers, fire cabines, fire trucks, etc. Novar Gent and Novar Esser by Honeywell and Bristol Fire have the latest technolgies displayed through their products at Intersec 2007.

Cutting-edge equipment, including the latest breathing and air supply apparatus for those at the forefront of fire-fighting safety, will also be on show from MSA Middle East, while German exhibitors LUKAS Hydraulik will be demonstrating the latest in hydraulic rescue equipment.

Other exhibitors include Gloria - Europe's leading manufacturer of fire extinguishers, INFIRE - a consultancy in fire, rescue and hazardous materials; and BlazeMaster, experts in fire sprinkler systems.
