Ajman University with symposium about recent architectural developments and urban growth.

The Department of Architectural Engineering at Ajman University of Science and Technology Network has been organizing an annual Symposium since 2002, and on 19 March the 6th annual symposium was held at the Dubai Fairmont Hotel.

The Barajeel Ballroom was filled to the last seat by people listening to the internationally renowned keynote speakers, experts and specialists in Architecture and Urban Design and Planning. Dr. Rasem Badran from Jordan, Dr. Charles Jencks from UK, Prof. Attilio Petruccioli from Italy, Prof. Jose Caban from USA, Prof. Lamine Mahdjoubi from United Kingdom, Dr. Mashary al-Naim from Saudi Arabia and Prof. Eckhardt Ribbeck from Germany all kept the large audience listening with excitement.

The symposium was focusing on the unprecedented and massive architectural and urban developments taking place during the last few years, and aimed to identify and discuss through the presented studies, the nature and the future of these booming developments specifically in the UAE, and in the whole Gulf region in general.

In conjunction with the symposium, an exhibition was held for related businesses organizations such as building construction and development companies, real estate and architectural/engineering consultant firms. A special part of this exhibition was also devoted for contemporary German architecture.
