Trevira is recognized internationally as the specialist manufacturer of high-tech polyester fibres. The success of recent years confirms their course, to continue to manufacture tailor-made specialty products to meet the high demands of a globally successful textile industry.

Trevira is now reinforcing its activities the Middle Eastern market with the establishment of a regional office for Trevira CS based in Dubai. The new representative, Nader Hassan, will operate out from the existing office of Trevira's parent company, Reliance Industries, in the Jebel Ali Free Zone.

"Although Trevira CS fabrics are already offered by many leading suppliers of interior textiles and interior designers based all over the Middle East, we felt that we could better serve our present as well as future clients with a regional office and we look forward to enhance and promote this unique range of products in the Middle Eastern market", says Dr. Ulrich Girrbach, Head of Marketing and Sales Trevira CS.

The recent number of fires on construction sites in the area has also triggered an increased focus on fire safety on the large number of projects and high rise building being built in the region.

Trevira, the manufacturer of high-tech polyester fibres, has opened their regional office in Dubai.

The booming construction industry of the Middle East is why the region has become an important new target market for Trevira. Around 150 hotels are said to be going up over the next five years in Dubai alone. Ever more and larger hotels, hospitals and public buildings are being erected in this region. 17 hotel chains want to set up hotels in Abu Dhabi, while 16,140 hotel rooms are under construction in Egypt. In Oman a whole city is being planned and constructed. Not to mention the refurbishing of all hotels in the region, in Egypt alone meaning 137,000 hotel rooms. New projects have come up in the health care sector as well: Saudi Arabia proposes to build 82 hospitals in the next three years and some 40 are set to emerge in Dubai by 2010.

For these projects, owners and architects set great store on materials which satisfy the high demands of hotel guests and visitors regarding quality and design, as well as materials which comply with the strict international safety standards. For the textiles made from flame retardant Trevira fibres (Trevira CS), this means a tremendous potential.

Today, Trevira CS has become a synonym for high-value safety textiles for the contract sector. Worldwide more than 1,000 collections offer interior designers a wide choice of home textiles which are not only flame retardant, but also offer a large variety of exquisite designs in all possible fabric constructions. This includes curtains and nets, upholstery fabrics, wall coverings, lamp shades, vertical blinds, curtain screens, mattresses, duvets, pillows as well as table linen; from the finest taffetas to heavy upholstery fabrics. In the meantime, an increasing number of collections are also available in an antimicrobial version (Trevira CS Bioactive). European suppliers of high-value contract textiles offer their collections on a global basis, also in the Middle East. Some suppliers already have established their own local basis.
