The specialty chemical company Lanxess is once again appearing at the Big 5 Show in Dubai, one of the most important trade shows on the Middle East. The Inorganic Pigments (IPG) business unit is presenting its wide-ranging line of inorganic pigments for colouring of construction materials and applications in the coatings industry from November 25 to 29. Roughly 2,000 companies from 67 countries are taking part in the event at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, which is hosting five trade shows – ranging from the construction industry and HVAC to cleaning and maintenance – simultaneously and under one roof.

Dubai, known throughout the world for superlative projects such as man-made islands in the shape of palm trees and the world’s tallest skyscraper, is representative for the possibilities of the Middle East and Africa region. As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of iron oxide pigments, Lanxess wants to participate in this growing market.

Commenting on the trade show appearance, Thomas Pfeiffer, IPG head of Marketing Middle East & Africa says: “This year we want to focus on the Bayferrox brand and international reference projects for the coloration of architectural concrete. By so doing, we can highlight the ideal combination of the material properties and technical functionality of concrete with aesthetic design considerations.” Pfeiffer adds that colored precast concrete elements offer interesting opportunities for the use of Lanxess products.

“The market is proving to be increasingly receptive to our superior quality and service advantages – particularly in comparison to our Asian competitors. As the most important construction trade show in the Gulf region, the Big 5 Show is the ideal platform for deepening our ties to customers in the Middle East. We are expecting many visitors from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in addition to customers and prospective customers from the United Arab Emirates.”

Lanxess has expanded the marketing team in Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and its service offerings for major customers, teaming up with Recon Chemicals, its Dubai-based distributor, to serve the market in the Gulf region. The remaining countries in the region are either supported directly or via capable dealers, with the entire global range of inorganic pigments from LANXESS Deutschland GmbH, Lanxess Shanghai Pigments Ltd. and Lanxess Ltd. (formerly W. Hawley & Son Ltd.) on offer.

The Lanxess stand with the number Zabeel E 15 is found in the Zabeel Hall.

Lanxess is a leader in specialty chemicals with 2006 sales of EUR 6.94 billion and more than 16,000 employees in 21 countries. The company is represented at 47 production sites worldwide. The core business of Lanxess is the development, manufacture and sale of specialty chemicals, plastics, rubber and intermediates.
