The Civil Engineering Department (CED) of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), will organise the 'Engineering Forum 2008 — Innovations in Design and Construction' on February 26 at Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Dubai.

Organised for the first time in Dubai, the Forum will host an elite group of senior professionals and decision makers from several major companies in the world of civil engineering, design, construction and building materials.

It is meant to be a platform to present, discuss and debate the changing trends and innovative ideas that enable the engineering sector to cope with novel construction concepts in the present booming market. The Forum will cover a wide range of related subjects covering structures, materials and special constructions like bridges and ultra tall buildings and also challenges faced by engineers and designers while meeting various parameters such as environmental imperatives.

Engineer Nazek Al Sabbagh, Managing Director of Trakhees, said: "We are very keen to organise Engineering Forum 2008 as this would provide an opportunity for engineering professionals and experts to familiarise themselves with the new ideas and concepts that are changing the world of construction. The CED and PCFC believe that Forums like this will sharpen the skills of our professionals, which in turn will reflect on our performance."

"The website will be a big help for the participants of the Forum. It will provide them with all information regarding the event so that they can make preparations in advance; get ready for the sharing of ideas and gain maximum benefit out of it."
