Inspiration and creativity are the most important ingredients in the many beautiful carpet collections from Ege. The inspiration is often found in contemporary design and architecture, which makes it essential to support creative initiatives, which ensures that exciting innovations are not shoved into the background by the financial crisis and the dark winter days. That is why Ege continues the forward cooperation with LYNfabrikken.

A platform for inspiration

LYNfabrikken is a platform for inspiration and networking. Besides from shop, coffee bar and office hotel, it is the starting point for a series of international presentations and exhibitions by artists, designers and inspirators’ from the creative world. Among the speakers and exhibitors in 2009 were Julien Vallée, Kwangho Lee, Marije Vogelzang and Jerszy Seymour.

“The cooperation gives Ege access to a new segment of young designers and decorators, whom we do not have contact with today”, director of Ege denmark Mads Lindegaard tells. “It is the oblique approaches presented, and this open up doors for us and for the many artists and designers involved. Through this cooperation we reach a whole new target group, opening their eyes to the possibilities within flooring solutions and colours.

Artistic carpets auctioned off

Besides from the exciting presentations, Ege has participated in a creative experiment with 7 designers and architects, each having free rein to design their own carpet for BOX; a window gallery where they can exhibit that part of their work that is more creation than product. The carpets, that cover both floor and wall, have evoked huge interest among the artists and visitors in the BOX. The carpets are auctioned off in the beginning of the new year by Lauritz.com, and the money raised from the auction will be donated to a national fundraising campaign, Danmarks Indsamlingen 2010, raising money under the headline “Women of Africa — Africa’s’ future”.

Ege’s cooperation with LYNfabrikken began in 2008 and continues into 2010, where Ege is collaborator around 8 presentations and different designers presented in the BOX.
