Marble and Natural Stones

The Po bathtub, designed by Claudio Silvestrin for Boffi, is in a solid block of Bihara stone. The Opium washbasin, designed by Carlo Colombo for Antonio Lupi, is made of moonstone.

These are just two examples where large companies, not just belonging to the bathroom sector, have made use of the vast world of minerals to achieve the most disparate offers of home furnishings: flooring, coating, stairs, bathtubs or shower trays in marble, granite, slate, amethyst, peperino (a volcanic tuff), travertine or labradorite. Besides their natural beauty, stones have shown great flexibility in use and the possibility for infinite processing: offered in slabs, tiles or mosaic they can bring to life rigorous, monochrome lines or lines which are soft and richly decorated.
