Highlighting the importance of implementing energy and water efficient systems and practices, the tour will provide the participants with insights on the various built environment sustainability initiatives implemented at DAFZA’s head office premises and the key factors taken in consideration on their development.

Ayoub Al Hammadi, Executive Director of Customer Relations and Licensing at DAFZA, said: “Dubai Airport Freezone Authority (DAFZA) is committed to supporting the vision of Dubai’s leadership in achieving comprehensive and sustainable development based on the commitment to environmental responsibility. We apply the best practices of green within DAFZA, such as the use of LED light sensors that contribute to reducing the carbon footprint and ensure to avoid waste and achieve considerable savings in energy.

“We at DAFZA seek to contribute effectively to strengthening the leadership in embracing the highest standards of green and environmentally safe international best practices, and through developing infrastructure consistent with sustainable practices and a culture of sustainability widely among customers and staff alike,” he added.

Saeed Al Abbar, Chairman of EmiratesGBC, said: “DAFZA’s head office premises are a clear example of the wide possibilities of sustainable building and the benefits derived from green development. We thank them for their support in sharing their knowledge and best practices with our stakeholders, allowing them to adopt green initiatives in their projects.

“Our partnership with DAFZA for the tour highlights our commitment to work towards achieving the UAE’s Green Vision, announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai,” he added.
