Fire fighting and rescue systems are expected to be one of the core growth areas at the 2012 edition of Intersec, the region’s premier showcase and networking platform for the safety and security industry. An analysis earlier this year by business research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan shows the fire safety market in the Middle East will reach $1,125 million in 2013 from $635 million in 2008.

According to German trade fair organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt, there is high demand for exhibition space from prospective new exhibitors in addition to returning exhibitors who are opting for more space at the event taking place from January 15th to 17th. As a result the section is expected to double in space over that of last year.

Underlining the exhibition’s stature as a must-attend event for anyone working in or connected with the security and safety industries, the strong response from exhibitors has indicated that the coming edition, to be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, is likely to be bigger and more comprehensive than the last edition.

Amongst some of the key exhibitors already signed up within the Fire & Rescue section are: Siemens, Naffco, Firex, Sffeco, Rapidrop, DuPont, Bristol Fire, Draeger Safety, Detectomat, Underwriters Laboratories, Firex, Cooper, Al Arabia Safety & Security, Scott Health & Safety, Komtes, Teknoware, LPG, Dubai Civil Defence, Bauer Kompressoren, LPCB, Akron Brass, Hochiki America, Kentec, Eurofunk, Apollo Fire, Firetrace, Fike, Mavili, Arasca Medical, Olympia Electronics, Sibca and FirePro. Naffco and Firex, long term supporters of the event will return once more with two of the largest stands at the trade fair, while first time exhibitor Siemens will join the fore of key international players at the event.

Ahmed Pauwels, Chief Executive Officer of organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt, said: “The strong response from the fire and rescue sector reflects the growth of the regional industry and indicates the increasing extent for the latest in safety systems and technology. We are building on the quality and scope of Intersec year on year. We have been successful in attracting industry leaders and major suppliers to the event.”

Naffco has been exhibiting at Intersec trade fair and conference since its inception 14 years ago. For Naffco, the exhibition has become an integral component of their long term growth strategy.

Eng Khalid Al Khatib, Chief Executive Officer at Naffco, stated: “We have watched Intersec grow from strength to strength over the years and at the same time we too have been growing our business and are now considered one of the top manufacturers of fire fighting equipment worldwide. The importance of fire safety cannot be understated and Intersec provides a strong business platform in which to communicate this message as well as to build more awareness for our brand.”

Global brand Siemens will make its Intersec debut in January, exhibiting its range of fire products including detection and suppression systems and solutions. Siemens, with 160 years experience in fire safety has been operating in the Middle East market for 75 years and intends to further expand its presence through the exhibition.

Mr Carsten Liesener, Head of Fire Safety Systems & Products at Siemens, commented: “As a leading international provider of fire safety technology we are looking forward to exhibiting at Intersec in Dubai next year. We aim to use the exhibition to showcase our range of innovative, high quality fire safety products, systems and solutions. In an increasingly competitive environment, it is essential to stay close to our customers and market needs. We see Intersec as an ideal platform to feel the pulse of regional trends as well as to talk to customers and understand their specific requirements.”

In addition to the increased space indoors, the UAE International FireFit Championships are also expanding and have enhanced the scope for the 2012 edition. With increased country participation from across the GCC and beyond, the 3rd edition of the FireFit Championships once again promises to be a lively and entertaining event.

With its range of value added features, as well as unsurpassed quality of exhibitors and trade visitors, Intersec, which will also feature exhibitors in the fields of Commercial Security, Information Security, Safety & Health, Homeland Security & Policing and Aviation Security has established itself as the model trade and networking event for safety, security and policing outside of Europe.
