As infrastructure investment and projects gather speed, the GCC is to continue investing approximately US$700 billion on modernizing infrastructure and social services with the UAE alone accounting for around US$100 billion.

In line with these projections, Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management, prioritizes the importance of design stage planning.

GCC infrastructure investment to focus on design stage planning

During the recent launch of its Acti 9™ solutions, Goktug Gur, Country President, UAE and Oman, Schneider Electric, announced the company will be working closely with partners in the UAE and Oman at the very initial stage of projects to ensure that solutions such as its holistic distribution system for circuit protection, lighting control and energy monitoring Acti9™ can easily connect to a building’s facility management system and offer optimum energy efficiency, alongside a host of other solutions.

Speaking during the event, Gur said: “Schneider Electric understands the need for simple, safe, error-free installation, performance, and maintenance. A key component of this is early planning. Facilities managers cannot afford down-time; so one of the challenges we face is providing a solution that truly minimizes error. Acti 9™ and its Smartlink™ communication system integrate seamlessly with any facility management architecture, combining basic control with optimum protection while ensuring energy efficiency even in the most demanding environments.”

With safety featuring as the primary concern for facilities managers, Gur was quick to point out that the solution guaranteed the downstream circuit is always safe, regardless of overvoltage conditions, wear or operator experience.

“With Reflex iC60 solution we can save up to 70 percent of time spent on control wiring and up to 50% in power connections. Also, by early involvement in projects we are able to mitigate many risks including short circuits and other dangerous electrical faults,” Gur added.
