The recent Index interior design show featured a gathering of top quality speakers from around the globe, including 2 seminars by Steve Parker, founder and managing director of The Stourbridge Glass International Collection, who flew over from England.
In addition to a session titled ‘Sharing Imagination’, his main talk updated architects, interior designers and discerning clients on the latest glass designs, trends and inspirations and included video footage of some of the glass making processes. He also gave the audience the opportunity to then hold some of the fabulous pieces – a slightly worrying but ultimately enjoyable experience for many of them!
Steve commented “We believe that glass provides professionals and their clients with the best opportunity to create a ‘wow factor’, to complement themes and ideals and ultimately to put their ‘signature’ in or on a building”. Included in the seminar was reference to a major recent project, that started when a client wanted to create a series of stylish and eye-catching pieces, that emphasised how their company was ‘visionary’ and always encouraged ‘thinking beyond boundaries’.
Steve added “ We decided to create pieces based on an optical theme, combining blown, cast and carved glass, in bold colours and combinations and managed to make them in several different shapes, in sizes more than 1 metre tall. They are arranged in the board room and visitor areas of our client and look spectacular”.
‘Sharing Imagination’ included a series of images of pieces that showed how by ‘sharing imagination’, interior designers and clients can through The Stourbridge Glass International Collection, create feature pieces for interior and exterior, that no-one has ever seen before.
Steve has been bringing high quality architectural and interiors products and expertise to the region for more than 25 years and The Stourbridge Glass International Collection are the glass industry partners for organisations including APID, the Association of Professional Interior Designers.
