Hansgrohe products awarded prestigious Abu Dhabi Environmental Performance Trustmark

Hansgrohe has become one of the first bathroom fittings and showerhead manufacturers in the region to be awarded the Trustmark for Environmental Performance by the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC). Awarded for 11 of its products, the Trustmark reaffirms the German manufacturer’s position as a leader in sustainability, setting the standard for fellow industry specialists in the region.
The Abu Dhabi Environmental Performance Trustmark acts as a mark of quality for customers, and shows that a specific product conforms to the various safety and performance requirements set by Abu Dhabi regulators. Products awarded the Trustmark by the QCC must comply with all the requirements set in the Assessment and Surveillance Plan for Water Fixture Conformity Scheme in order to be granted a Certification of Conformity and a license to bear the Abu Dhabi Trustmark for Environmental Performance.
Hansgrohe’s range of mixers and showerheads fitted with EcoSmart technology such as the Trustmark awarded Metris S consume up to 60% less water than conventional products without any loss of comfort. This pioneering energy saving technology can help developers achieve the highest Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating, with flow rates such as the Trustmark awarded Raindance S 100 that has a maximum flow rate of just 9 l/min.

Abdulla Hassan Al Muaini, Executive Director of Conformity Scheme Services at the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council said, “We are glad to award Abu Dhabi Environmental Performance Trustmark to Hansgrohe. The Abu Dhabi Trustmark communicates to consumers that the company’s products conform to various health, safety and environmental standards set by Abu Dhabi regulators.”
Mr Al Muaini also called upon other players in the industry to follow Hansgrohe’s footsteps to meet the expected Abu Dhabi and international quality requirements and acquire the QCC Trustmark for their products. He also assured that the value of this Trustmark lies within the market surveillance activities conducted by the council to ensure continuous conformity of certified products.
Hansgrohe’s green innovations include EcoSmart and AirPower technologies. EcoSmart is based on a sophisticated water dimmer integrated into the shower or faucet that reduces the water flow from 14.5l/min to 9l/min in hand showers and 13.5l/min to 5l/min in faucets. AirPower technology mixes water with air, using the Venturi effect, which increases the overall volume, meaning water flow is rich and soft, which prevents splashing.
Hansgrohe products that have been awarded the Abu Dhabi Environmental Performance Trustmark include: Focus Single Lever Basin Mixer, Focus S Single Lever Basin Mixer, Talis E2 Single Lever Basin Mixer, Talis Single Lever Basin Mixer, Metris Single Lever Basin Mixer 100, Metris S Single Lever Basin Mixer, Crometta 85 1jet Green Overhead Shower with pivot joint, Crometta 85 1jet Green Hand Shower, Croma 100 Vario EcoSmart/Unica'C Set 0.65m, Croma 100 Showerpipe for bath tubs EcoSmart Single Lever Mixer, and Raindance S 100 3jet EcoSmart Hand Shower.
A selection of Hansgrohe products awarded with the Trustmark will be on display at the QCC stand at The World Future Energy Summit (WFES) 2014 which takes place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, 20 – 22 January 2014.
