The new manufacturing facility will be located in Kizad’s mixed used cluster and will cover an area of 215,996 sq.ft. The facility, which will commence operations in June this year, will be divided into two production lines within the same facility.

The first line will be focusing on the production of paper based products including facial tissues, toilet rolls and hand towels, and will have a production volume between 120-150 tons per month. The second line will focus on the production of plastic based products such as shopping and waste bags, and will have a production volume between 60-80 tons per month.

At the ground breaking ceremony, Engineer Khaled Salmeen, CEO and Managing Director of Kizad, said:

“On our continuous journey to play a role in diversifying Abu Dhabi’s economy, we welcome the West Coast Company as another strong business

partner with considerable economic potential on both a national and regional level. West Coast will integrate perfectly into Kizad, adding significant value to the supply chain in the mixed use cluster, and supporting Kizad’s rapid growth into an industrial powerhouse which is strengthening and diversifying the emirate’s non-oil and gas economy.”

Bashar Al Mahaini, CEO of West Coast, added:
“In September this year we are planning to expand our market focus and start exporting our high quality products to GCC countries like Qatar, Bahrain and Oman. With its fantastic road, air and sea connectivity and close proximity to Khalifa Port, Kizad offers excellent market access and a solid infrastructure that will enable West Coast to further grow and flourish even beyond UAE borders.”

Hadeed Emirates Contracting Company (HEC), who are the main contractor and a specialized turnkey design and build contractor in the industrial construction field, will be building the West Coast facility at Kizad. Mr. Sameer Dabbas CEO of HEC, who was also present at the ground breaking ceremony, stated that "we are proud to be one of the contractors working on the new West Coast facility in Kizad, which is one of a few industrial zones in the world that build according to strict environmental regulations. We are also thankful for the trust West Coast has given us to build their new factory, being one of the leading regional companies in the environmental industry”.

West Coast Company was established in 2000 by Al Mahaini in partnership with H.E. Jawaan Awaidha. In addition to the production of high quality paper and plastic based products, the company offers a wide range of high end services provided by its two main service divisions: waste management and general cleaning.
