Volume 4 in the “Water Enjoyment” series takes the reader on an exciting journey through the world of international GROHE reference projects. Unveiled in the GROHE SPA® Showroom in Milan on the occasion of the Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2014, the latest coffee-table book in this limited edition series is now available worldwide.

The Milan Design Week in April of this year provided just the right setting to present the new GROHE reference book to the public. The GROHE “SMART WATER” event featuring an installation by famous architects Fabio Calvi and Paolo Brambilla blended the concepts of sustainability and innovation. It was a huge international success and the various GROHE VIP events attracted about 900 guests. Among them were architects, planners and journalists from all over the world.

Visitors were invited to learn more about the GROHE products in unusually designed rooms. They find inspiration and information in Volume 4 of the “Water Enjoyment” series. On some 200 pages, the leading manufacturer of sanitary fittings and faucets presents unique architectural projects, which are enhanced by aesthetic, functional and sustainable GROHE products. The Alpina Hotel in Gstaad, Switzerland, overall winner of the 2013 European Hotel Design Awards, takes pride of place on the cover, thus setting a high standard for the other reference projects featured in the book.

The concept of sustainability

In the foreword, David J. Haines, Chairman and CEO of GROHE Group S.à r.l., emphasises the company’s high sustainability standards: “Water - free-flowing, revitalising and life-giving - is at the heart of everything we do at GROHE. Our designs are dedicated both to harnessing the beauty of water and to preserving this most precious of resources.” Achieving these goals depends on the close cooperation between GROHE and architects, interior designers and planners.

This is one of the reasons why GROHE plays an important role in the dissemination of BIM, the innovative Building Information Modelling process, which is explained in detail in the editorial. An interview with Paul Flowers, Senior Vice President of Design at Grohe AG, highlights the many aspects of GROHE design for the private and public sector and for its disposition in many different markets worldwide.

Diversity on all continents

At the heart of the book are the high-profile reference projects. Divided into different categories, from hotels and residential buildings to education and retail to transport, the book features such unusual projects as the W Hotel in Bangkok by Palmer & Turner Architects, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam by Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos, the Violin Factory in London by MCD Architects and the Queen Alia Airport in Amman by Foster + Partners. Large-scale photos, floor plans and informative texts convey a clear impression of the projects and are a source of pure inspiration.

If you want to find out more about the products used in the projects then a QR code at the back of the book directs you to all the details on the website in an instant.
