Major Hong Kong stainless steel rebar contract signed by Arminox Middle East

The world’s leading supplier of stainless steel reinforcement, Arminox®, has signed a contract to supply stainless steel reinforcement for the Hong Kong – Zhuhai - Macau causeway project, one of the largest bridge projects in the world.
This prestigious project has a life time requirement of 120 years without maintenance, and therefore stainless steel reinforcement has been specified in the critical areas of the structure, mainly in splash zones. The first phase requires 4,000 ton of stainless steel reinforcement. The total requirement is estimated to be 15,000 ton.
Arminox Supplied 900 tons of stainless reinforcing steel to Sheikh Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi.
The first stage of the causeway, which is being built by the Hong Kong highway authority, runs from Lantau Island towards Macau. Main contractor for this first phase is Dragages-China Harbor-VSL Joint Venture,, and the consultants are UK’s Ove Arup
Until now, only ferries have been available for transport between Hong Kong and Macau. The causeway, when finished, will connect Macau with Hong Kong as well as with Zhuhai in mainland China.
Arminox Middle East have been chosen due to their vast experience within the field of supplying stainless steel reinforcement, combined with competitive pricing. Several suppliers from Europe, USA and China were bidding for this contract, which is the largest of its kind in the world, till today.
Arminox will establish a production facility at site in Hong Kong, to ensure seamless delivery to the project and to cater for any urgent needs and changes.
