MAPEI wins 'Sustainable Supplier of the Year' award at The Big Project + BGreen awards 2011.

MAPEI has received the prestigious “Sustainable Supplier of the Year” award during the recently concluded ‘The Big Project’ + ‘BGreen’ awards 2011 held at Burj Khalifa’s Armani Hotel, Dubai on December 6th, 2011.

The Big Project + BGreen awards 2011, which received more than 300 nominations covering 15 categories, is one of the most successful events of its kind for the construction and sustainability industries in the region.

The award strongly reaffirms the success of MAPEI’s aggressive investment program in R&D to develop green-certified construction materials, which have been used in many of the most challenging and prestigious construction projects in the region.

The Big Project + BGreen awards 2011 was attended by 400 of the industry’s biggest names and Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al Nuaimi, a member of the ruling family of the Emirate of Ajman who is also known as the “Green Sheikh”. Awards were presented in recognition of achievements in both the construction and sustainability industries.

The awards were judged by Niall McLoughlin, senior vice president DAMAC Properties; Adel Mohamed Mokhtar, senior architectural engineer and member of the Green Building Committee, Dubai Municipality; Salah Al Mashad, mechanical engineer and Member of the Green Building Committee, Dubai Municipality; Thierry Paret, president, American Institute of Architecture; Gerard Couturier, chairman of BuildingSMART and branch director, Oger Abu Dhabi; Mohammed Al Rais, senior vice president and managing director of Middle East Projects, Hill International; and Mohamed Al Noori, director general, The Environmental Centre for Arab Towns.
