Middle East Electricity, the Largest Power Exhibition in the World

Following a hugely successful 40th Anniversary edition, Middle East Electricity (MEE), the largest power exhibition in the world, will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre on 1-3 March 2016, and is once again set to break records and bring together some of the world’s leading power companies to showcase their products and services on nearly 65,000 square metres of exhibition space - a growth of 4000 sqm from the 2015 edition.

Hosted by the U.A.E’s Ministry of Energy, visitors to MEE can expect a truly exciting, product and content driven, event that has grown continuously at a rapid rate over the past few years, with the 2016 edition playing host to over 350 new companies from around the world.

For the first time ever, MEE will be hosting a regional Power Congress. A closed door event which takes place on day one of the exhibition, this agenda setting programme for the greater electricity and power markets will focus on powering purpose built cities, and supporting energy innovation throughout the region. With high profile speakers such as His Excellency Suhail Al Mazroui, Minister of Energy, U.A.E; Eng. Jamila Matar, Director of Energy Department, League of Arab States and Dr. Varun Sivaram, Douglas Dillon Fellow, Council on Foreign Relations, discussions will be led by energy development and management, and how this plays a key part in redefining what is possible in urban developments across the Middle East.

Testament to the strong, long-standing appeal MEE has to the industry’s key players, is that fact that around 85 percent of the companies that have confirmed their participation at MEE 2016 are repeat exhibitors. Almost all of the major players including Cummins/Stamford AVK, Perkins, Skipper, Alfanar
Ducab and ABB have already confirmed their participation, with many of them taking even larger stands than last year.

A key success factor of MEE is its targeted approach on the industry’s key focus areas such as Power
Generation, Transmission & Distribution and Lighting & Renewables. As well as net floor space growth, a number of the 26 country pavilions have returned with an increased presence – Turkey, China and Germany all leading the way with a 20 per cent increase in space taken.

Conferences and Technical Seminars:

Aside from the Power Congress, MEE 2016 will also play host to a dedicated conference, The Solar Agenda, and a comprehensive Technical Seminar programme which showcases the products and services of leading names in the industry.

The Solar Agenda, a series of panel discussions taking place on Wednesday 2nd March, will look to identify opportunities in the greater region, discuss what tools are needed to help meet demand, and will comparing regional business cases, regulatory environments and future requirements within the renewable energy industry.
