RW Armstrong won the Architecture Firm of the Year award at The Big Project + BGreen Awards 2011.

RW Armstrong was selected by the Abu Dhabi Urban Development Committee to manage renovations and additions to the existing Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club in the heart of the city. This exciting and prestigious project will enhance the city’s and the region’s, ability to host international equestrian events at the highest levels of competition.

The project includes a large site development component which will include outdoor competition and training spaces, recreational spaces, plazas, water features, gardens, and green spaces. One of the notable achievements for this project was its successful win of a regional design competition. The primary objective of the project is to create a cohesive design that integrates the new buildings into the existing context and creates a sense of harmony between the two.

RW Armstrong was selected to develop the entire project through the final concept design, and then focus on the detailed design of the areas identified by the client in phases one and two. The innovative design and building shapes were inspired by the fluid, graceful movement of horses.

RW Armstrong was appointed by Musanada as lead consultant for concept design through construction supervision for the new Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority Headquarters. Musanada’s vision is to set a new standard to construct a modern, innovative and memorable government building, with a progressive public impression.

The building will represent a model example for future office space comfort and design in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. RW Armstrong is implementing innovative sustainable design solutions to ensure that the project will be granted a Two-Pearl Estidama rating. RW Armstrong exercised its expertise in the design to address the high profile nature of the project and to achieve a balance between optimum building performance and experience of the visitors and users.

“We are thrilled to receive this coveted award because it reaffirms RW Armstrong’s long-lasting commitment to innovation,” said Mona Salem, RW Armstrong’s vice president, based in its Abu Dhabi office. “Sustainability and its crucial role toward the well-being of future generations remain at the forefront of RW Armstrong’s creative process.”
