Schneider Electric Announces Participation in World Future Energy Summit 2014

Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and winner of the 2012 Zayed Future Energy Prize in the category of ‘Large Corporations’ for leading efforts in renewable energy and sustainability will showcase its integrated Smart City solutions at the seventh World Future Energy Summit that runs from 20 - 22 January at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi.

Dubai’s announcement by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, of plans to transform the emirate into one of the world’s most connected and sustainable ‘Smart Cities’ – in time for Expo 2020 has resulted in energy leaders like Schneider Electric eyeing 2014 as the ‘Year of the Smart City’.

The Schneider Electric stand, spanning 230 sqm at the seventh World Future Energy Summit will be located at Hall 5, booth A410. Schneider Electric will provide visitors to its booth at the exhibition with a glimpse of how its solutions will help create the cities of the future. Schneider Electric’s integrated ‘Smart City’ solutions from Smart Energy, Smart Mobility, Smart Water, Smart Public Services, and Smart Integration will allow visitors to experience first-hand in specially created simulated environments how systems such as traffic and parking, safety, lighting, waste management, and energy will no longer operate in silos, instead integrating seamlessly and running cohesively. The smart technology solutions will enable Schneider Electric’s clients to save up to 30 per cent in energy consumption, including a 15 per cent reduction in water use.

Schneider Electric’s booth at WFES will feature dedicated sections showcasing smart solutions in the hotel, healthcare, and renewable energy industries, with representatives on hand to walk visitors through the various offerings, and address any questions. A walk-through display of the Energy University, the company’s online training and education portal, and a series of ‘smart sessions’ or public presentations that discuss different solutions at length, will further highlight Schneider Electric’s participation at WFES.

According to Frost & Sullivan the global smart city market potential is expected to reach $3.3 trillion by 2025.

The World Future Energy Summit (WFES) is the world’s foremost event dedicated to renewable energies, energy efficiency and clean technologies, hosted by Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s multi-faceted renewable company. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, WFES includes a world-class conference, an international exhibition, the Project & Finance Village, the Young Future Energy Leaders programme, as well as a number of corporate meetings and concurrent social events.
