Cosentino Group has been granted the Award for Financial Excellence by the Spanish Association of Corporate Financiers and Treasurers (ASSET). These awards, given annually by this association, seek recognition for the work of individuals, companies and institutions that have contributed positively to the profession of the CFO.

The Board and Association’s Jury, which includes the main financial Directors, Treasurers and professionals in the country, praised “the internationalisation of the company and commercial presence with fixed assets on all continents, with a strong presence in USA and an increase in turnover of 15.4% compared to 2013″.

The ceremony for the tenth edition of these Awards took place last night in the Madrid Stock Exchange, and was attended by key figures from the economic and financial world. Luis Haza de Lara, the CFO of the multinational accepted the award on behalf of Cosentino Group. In his acceptance speech he said, “This award is a great satisfaction for the entire Cosentino Group team and for the Financial Department of the company, in particular. It is a difficult task to match our professional colleagues who choose us for this award.”

“I interpret it as a hallmark for the sound financial management of the Group in a demanding, high investment environment, both for its continued international expansion and the strong commitment to product innovation. With all this, we generate profitability and continue reinvesting the profits to continue growing, ultimately aiming to be a future partner for our customers, suppliers and collaborators,”concluded Luis de la Haza.

During his speech, the Cosentino Group CFO also highlighted, among other things, the key progress of the company, the strong commitment of the founders of Cosentino, the successful duo of being 100% family owned and the increasing degree of professionalisation, the commitment to innovation and development of new products and the business model and international penetration.

In this regard, he reviewed having own assets in 26 countries on five continents, 105 business locations worldwide and a pioneering “Center” system that allows to develop the brand experience and high standard of service that Cosentino gives its customers. This massively complex system of logistics distribution and management involved the movement of over 900,000 slabs of different materials per year, equivalent to 3.5 million square metres.

The Spanish Association of Corporate Financiers and Treasurers founded in 1990 and currently chaired by Josep Badia, consists of the most relevant Spanish finance professionals, belonging to both businesses and public entities, and currently has over 600 members. In previous editions of these awards, ASSET has recognised companies such as Renfe, Grifols, Vueling, Abengoa and Iberdrola, among others.
