Akrolithos was established in 1979, with the purpose of excavating slate from the area of Pageo mountain in Kavala. Thereafter, the company expanded to the processing of other natural stones from various areas of Greece as well as from foreign countries.

Today, Akrolithos is an integrated plant, consisting of modern processing facilities, measuring a total area of 30,000m2, with privately-owned quarries, authorized sales network, and a special customer's service department, being capable of covering both the Greek market's and global market's needs.
