Based in Herbrechtingen in Germany, Hauff-Technik GmbH is the European leader in the manufacturing of sealing systems for house entries for cable and pipes. In mid-2006, following its first participation at the Middle East Electricity Exhibition, which generated a number of lucrative contacts, the company started a major push to secure its market position in the United Arab Emirates.

'At the present time, sample pieces from reference projects are being evaluated for approval in the UAE. These samples have been produced to UAE standards, and include products for the entire power supply network to Dubai International Airport and also for a company specialising in mobile power supplies,' said Michael Seibold, Director, Hauff-Technik, who expects the approval phase to be completed by the end of 2007.

'The Middle East Electricity exhibition is the ideal platform to make international connections, especially in Asia,' added Seibold. 'I believe that Hauff-Technik, a medium-sized company, will be able to generate above-average growth, if it is able to exploit the potential that I see in the medium term in the UAE and India, therefore, having a presence at Middle East Electricity 2007 is essential for our company.'

Hauff-Technik returns to Middle East Electricity to continue building its growth in the UAE.

Hauff-Technik has an independent stand at the trade fair, being held in the International Exhibition Centre from 11th to 14th February 2007. The company is displaying its range of products that includes the Segmento cable entry system and the company's brand new fire safety system, Easy Fire.

The Easy Fire fire-barrier cushions provide a fireproof, smoke-tight barrier, protecting power cables, cable looms and light waveguides of all types. Available in four sizes, they are designed for use when cables need to be installed retrospectively in a flexible, dust-free process. The Easy Fire system is quick and easy to install, allowing the addition of extra cables.

The Segmento cable entry system can be installed ten times faster than existing systems, is lighter and can accommodate more cables in the same space. Segmento can be used for sealing all power, communication and control technology cables. Different coloured segments and a new sealing material make installation of cables at any time - during and after construction - a simple matter.

Hauff-Technik has been engineering and manufacturing its six product groups, encompassing around 3,000 products, for 52 years in two plants in Germany, and distributes its products worldwide. The company maintains sales centres in Essen, Leipzig, Herbrechtingen Erfurt, Berlin and Neustrelitz. International markets are handled by 14 national agencies in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, France,Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom - and in future, hopefully also in the UAE.

Hauff-Technik employs 118 people, generated sales of Eur 22.4 million in 2006, and supplies its products to power supply companies, city utilities, construction companies, major installation enterprises, industrial companies and private building customers. Planning engineers and architects recommend Hauff-Technik, which manufactures standard products and custom solutions for specific applications. In Germany, a maximum delivery time of 22 hours is guaranteed, while Hauff-Technik's distribution partners outside Germany make every effort to keep delivery times as short as possible.

'We plan to position Hauff-Technik as a technology leader in the UAE, in the same way as in Germany, particularly with innovative sealing materials,' said Seibold. 'Hauff-Technik is well prepared for this, since more than ten new patents are registered worldwide by the company every year, and that these will certainly also be of interest to customers in the UAE.'

Further details of these will be revealed during presentations to be made as part of the 'Expert Talks' that will take place on the German Pavilion at the Middle East Electricity Speakers Corner on 12th and 13th February.
