The Belgium company BricsCad NV has announced that as from February 2007, their name has changed to Bricsys NV. The name BricsCad will continue to be the brand for their flagship design software.

"The change of company name from BricsCad to Bricsys is to avoid confusion between product and company," said Erik de Keyser, CEO of the company. "In addition, it will give us more freedom to launch other products and services under the Bricsys umbrella while we let BricsCad continue to strengthen its position as a high quality, value for money CAD software," he added.

Bricsys is presently active in 65 countries and has a worldwide network of dealers that contribute in sales and support. The company today has over 45,000 customers and sees a strong growth in number of users every year.

The BricsCad software has a proven track record throughout the world, and is the only true alternative to AutoCAD. BricsCad V7 is an 'almost clone' of AutoCAD and uses the exact same DWG drawing format, which means no file conversion or loss of information. Drawings made by BricsCad V7 can be read by AutoCAD and the other way round.

The 'almost clone' wording also covers the user interface. Thus migrating to BricsCad is straightforward. Most CAD operators will be fully up running in a few hours without any extra training.

BricsCad V7 highlights:

  • DWG (AutoCAD) compatible software at a very attractive price
  • BricsCad also reads and writes 2.5 to 2007 DWG format
  • BricsCad V7 is an 'almost clone' of AutoCAD
  • AutoCAD users can switch to BricsCad in a few hours

Those who want test the software can download a 30-days trial version of BricsCad V7 from Bricsys' corporate website. From their e-Shop you can also buy software licenses and related services instantly with a credit card.
