Memon Investments, a leading Dubai-based property developer and part of the international business conglomerate - the Memon Group of Companies - has awarded an US$ 11 million contract for the construction of its US$ 22 million Cambridge Business Centre. The much sought after project is Memon’s first commercial development and was won by Cairo Contracting Company (CCC), which has expressed its commitment to the timely delivery of the high profile project in Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO).

Present at the contract signing were Rizwan Shaikhani, Joint Managing Director, Memon Investments and Hesham El Mohandess, President, Cairo Contracting Company. As the main contractor, CCC joins other established industry experts, who have worked on the project such as Eng. Adnan Saffarini Office for the architectural design, Stromek Emirates Foundation for the initial shoring and excavation, and a host of subcontractors and suppliers. Commenting on the contract, Rizwan Shaikhani said, “Our vision for an ideal business development is rapidly approaching its fulfilment with the awarding of this important contract to our new partner, Cairo Contracting Company. We are certain the CCC will be able to match the high standards of our previous projects. As we realise another magnificent achievement for Memon Investments as a leading real estate developer in the UAE, we see outstanding prospects for Cambridge Business Centre as an important business address in Dubai.”

Due to its strategic location within the region’s premier integrated innovations hub for high-tech industries, and outstanding design that incorporates progressive engineering and architectural acumen, Cambridge Business Centre had been completely sold out merely weeks following its launch.

Set to feature classic British architecture across its 108 small, medium and large offices, the business tower will boast of advanced facilities such as Wi-Fi technology, keyless entry and hi-speed internet connection.

Commercial tenants have appreciated the overall layout of the entire development, which is set to house 11 retail shops on the ground floor, banking facilities and a travel agency, in addition to amenities for rest and relaxation such as a fully-serviced health club at the rooftop.

As one of the largest construction companies in Egypt, CCC boasts of a project portfolio approximately valued at LE 800 million, having completed a number of prestigious construction works for leading global companies.

This includes a project with Orascom Telecom, which had commissioned the contractor for the civil works implementation of its entire mobile towers across Egypt; and executed the civil works of a lot of projects with large international wind turbine manufacturers for New and Renewable Energy Authority under the Electricity and energy Ministry in Egypt such as: NREA/Danida Wind farm 30 MW, 600 Kw Nordex GMBH, and NREA/JAPANESE Wind Farm 120 MW amongst others.

The company currently comprises more than 2,470 industry experts, including labourers, site supervisors, engineers and project managers, who are being managed by a highly qualified and experienced team of engineers and technicians using the most modern equipment and machineries.

“We believe that our greatest strength lies within our ability to meet our client’s requirements, which is the core of our entire operations. As a new player in the booming Dubai real estate market, we are very pleased to be working with one of the leading developers on their initial commercial development offering. We assure Memon Investments that this project will witness the highest level of industry expertise of our highly experienced engineers, workers and managerial staff, in addition to our state-of-the-art technologies and techniques,” concluded Hesham El Mohandess.
