The design solutions market in the Middle East is expected to rise by 5 percent in 2009, according to Promedia, a leading systems integrator and part of UAE based OMNIX International, with more developers identifying the advantages of adopting technology-driven solutions to fast track their projects’ construction process and thereby reduce loses amidst the current economic downturn.

In line with this, ProMedia, has announced that it will be hosting a high impact seminar focusing on the revolutionary Revit and Civil 3D 2009 range of design solutions by Autodesk, the world leader in 2D and 3D design software for the manufacturing, building, and media and entertainment markets. The seminar, which was held at the Marriot Hotel in Doha on January 26, 2009, also highlighted the Building Information Modeling (BIM) concept upon which these revolutionary Autodesk solutions are based.

With Qatar’s economic standing expected to remain stable amidst the global credit crunch, ProMedia aims to leverage the growing demand for robust design applications within the country to support a wide range of projects within the oil and gas, construction, and media sectors. In line with this, the company has teamed up leading architects, interior designers, structural and MEP consultants to highlight the immediate impact of Revit and Civil 3D 2009 solutions, as well as the BIM concept on Qatar’s architecture and construction industry. Customers will now be able to bring their most innovative ideas to market faster by staying competitive, while improving ROI.

“The entire global business community has shown a strong willingness to make prompt realignments in terms of adopting new systems and technologies, which can help them manage their operations amidst the challenges posed by the present economic situation,” said Jayant M. Deshpande, Director, CAD Division, OMNIX International. “Our 20 years of experience in implementing and distributing Autodesk products in the region makes us a valuable partner for high profile clients across a number of important industries in Qatar. This seminar has been prepared by experts at ProMedia in response to Qatar-based customers’ specific requirements and also to give a clear idea of how Autodesk’s state-of-the-art solutions can enhance their operations in terms of productivity and efficiency.”

Autodesk solutions are the ideal tools for the current economic condition in the Middle East, with companies struggling to retain manpower and complete projects within the deadline. Revit solutions keeps information coordinated, up-to-date and accessible in an integrated digital environment, giving project teams a clear overall vision of their designs, the capacity to test and visualize in a digital environment, improve efficiencies, and reduce errors by streamlining the decision-making process. The Civil 3D software provides project teams with a comprehensive surveying, design, analysis, and documentation solution to deliver land development, transportation, and environmental projects faster and with improved accuracy.

“New technology products will provide customers with the capacity to test and visualize their project in a digital environment, thereby allowing them to improve efficiencies, reduce errors and choose the innovative ideas faster, which can result in staying more competitive, while improving investment returns. As the pioneer in providing breakthrough technologically-advanced design solutions, we are committed towards helping organisations achieve optimum productivity and profitability through constant development of our products. Our strong partnership with ProMedia gives us an outstanding opportunity to reach our customers in Qatar, and we expect this seminar to further broaden our market base in this country,” concluded Manish Bhardwaj, Field Marketing Specialist, Autodesk Middle East.

The event in Qatar is part of Autodesk’s campaign, which involves in-house weekly seminars, workshops and try-and-buy sessions, and executive briefings on Autodesk products to further entrench its presence in the regional market. The company is also continually working to provide its customers with technology to foster competitive advantage and design innovation. Autodesk will also focus on implementation and promotion of Autodesk 2009 solutions in the field of Building Solutions Division (BSD) and Infrastructure Solutions Division (ISD) to new markets such as UAE, Qatar, and Jordan.
