Arabian Construction Week, the region's international exhibition incorporating three dedicated vertical trade exhibitions and two global summits on sustainability, innovation and infrastructure, will gather a spectrum of exhibiting companies, trade visitors and senior industry leaders in Abu Dhabi.

To be held from 24-26 May at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), the event will feature Green Building Middle East showcasing premium sustainable construction products; Future-Build Middle East as the first dedicated single-sourcing platform for latest technology and innovative construction projects, and Civil Engineering Middle East showcasing the latest products and solutions for major infrastructure and transport projects that are rapidly transforming the landscape of the Middle East.

The Arabian World Construction Summit (AWCS) as well as the Green Building Middle East Summit will witness international spokespersons analysing integral issues that currently face the region’s construction industry.

Organised by Mecom Forums/Clarion Events in partnership with MEED, Arabian Construction Week will serve as a perfect platform for companies to display a full range of green building, innovative building and engineering products and services to thousands of buyers from across the Middle East and neighbouring regions.

In addition to its conference programme, the Arabian Construction Week will act as a pre-tender sourcing forum for the region’s existing and potential construction and infrastructure projects. It will also aim to work towards a better built environment for the cities of today and the future.

Christopher Hudson, Managing Director of Mecom Forums and Clarion Events partner, said: "Our strategic alliance with MEED for the event will ensure our delivery of a truly global event that is representative of the Middle East construction industry. Through this partnership, we aim to offer the ultimate sourcing, intellectual and networking platform for the region.
“We believe the Arabian Construction Week will provide a unique glimpse into the latest in construction products, technologies and services.”

Edmund O’Sullivan, Chairman of MEED Events, said: “Running for the third consecutive year, the Arabian World Construction Summit has emerged as a crucial platform for the regional construction industry by bringing together leading industry figures. In line with our core mission, we have covered numerous subject areas that impact the industry while delivering pragmatic solutions. We are delighted to join hands with the inaugural Arabian Construction Week that will undoubtedly add to the success of the summit.

“The construction industry continues to experience shifting trends. It has become increasingly vital for industry leaders to gain access to timely information and exclusive networking opportunities. In all, the GCC construction industry is worth over US$3 trillion with more than 1,100 projects in the UAE, over 1,000 projects in Saudi Arabia, more than 300 projects in Kuwait, over 250 projects in Qatar, nearly 200 projects in Oman and almost 150 projects in Bahrain. This scenario offers plenty of room for growth and AWCS aims to serve as the stepping stone for companies to exploit this potential.”

Themed ‘Growing in a Challenging Market’, the Arabian World Construction Summit (AWCS) will see over 50 experts deliberating on how the industry is gearing up to seize the opportunities presented by the 2010 GCC growth forecasts. The panelists will also examine best ways to deal with the legacy of the global property crash that has led to project delays and cancellations.

The Green Building Middle East Summit will comprise three keynote sessions and 15 parallel streams across three days. It will address themes such as the economics of green construction, making low carbon construction possible, managing buildings effectively, creating sustainable cities, sourcing building materials ethically and responsibly and adapting for the impact of climate change.
