3M Gulf announces participation at SteelFAB 2012.

3M Gulf, a recognized leader in research and development, has announced its participation at the 2012 edition of Steel FAB trade show, the premier regional show for the steel fabrication, metal-working and metal manufacturing industry, which is scheduled to be held from January 9th to 12th at Expo Centre Sharjah.
The industrial and transportation business unit of 3M Gulf which will be participating with an 18 sqm exhibit will showcase its complete abrasives product portfolio including the recently launched 3M™ Cubitron™ II and 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ innovative solutions. The show will also witness 3M executive Prashant Sadalgekar participating in a seminar on January 10th wherein he will elaborate on the salient features of the Cubitron™ II product.
Commenting on 3M Gulf’s participation at Steel FAB 2012, Fadi Medlej, Country Business Leader 3M Industrial and Transportation said, “Steel FAB is a unique show and one of its kind in the Middle East for the metal fabrication industry, which is one of the core competence industries for 3M Industrial and Transport solutions unit”
“Our key objective of participating at SteelFAB is to highlight our innovative abrasives portfolio including Cubitron™ Il which has several applications in the fabrication industry and will be showcased at our exhibit with the aid of live demonstrations”, added Fadi.
With decades of experience in ceramic, abrasive and micro replication technologies, 3M has literally reinvented abrasives with 3M™ Cubitron™ II products. Starting with a patented, precision-shaped ceramic abrasive grain, 3M engineers found a way to electrostatically orient each triangular structure to maximize cutting potential.
As a resultant of this, each individual precision-shaped ceramic grain acts like a cutting tool, slicing through metal like a knife, and continuously self-sharpens as points break off. This allows 3M™ Cubitron™ II Belts and Discs to run cooler and keep on working, long after conventional abrasives have dulled, shelled, glazed over and been tossed out.
With the introduction of 3M™ Cubitron™ II fibre discs, the Cubitron brand now represents a promise that extends to the entire product range. 3M™ Cubitron™ II abrasive fibre discs are heavy duty discs used for weld removal, grinding and blending large and small areas of metal surfaces which cut faster and last longer. They also require less grinding pressure than any other industrial ceramic abrasive product available today.
