International Exhibition of Building and Construction in Oman

The 11th International Exhibition of Building Material, Construction Equipment, Wood Machinery and Interior Furnishings 2014 will kick off after tomorrow (Monday) at Oman International Exhibition Centre. The four-day exhibition is organized by Oman Expo.

The opening ceremony will be held under the patronage of Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Shuhi, Minister of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources.

The exhibition will bring together the local, regional and international companies specialized in building and construction industries to take advantage of major opportunities in the industry, as well as to learn about the developments in the local and global markets.

Over 200 exhibitors participate in the exhibition representing 15 countries, including Turkey, Austria, Jordan, Germany, Taiwan, China and Iran, to showcase an extensive range of the latest building materials, construction equipment, wood machinery, interior furnishings and other products.

The exhibition will have new segments like pool and spa, kitchen and bathroom, heating, ventilation and AC systems, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a conference entitled "Oman Future Buildings" that is dedicated to major construction projects and investment opportunities in the Sultanate with high profile speakers, in addition to key case study presentations from some current leading projects including Port of Sohar, Muscat international Airport, The Wave Muscat and Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort, as well as making use of other countries' experience in building and construction.

It is worth mentioning that the exhibition was launched in 1996 as "Interiors and Buildex" and rebranded "The Big Show" in 2010.
