Intersec 2013, the premier trade fair and conference for safety, security and policing in the Middle East, will be held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This underlines the ongoing support of the UAE authorities for the trade show.

HH Sheikh Mansoor’s continuing patronage also indicates the important role played by Intersec in highlighting the latest developments in the safety and security industry. By introducing the latest products and services, the trade fair plays a part in enhancing regional responses to security threats as well as creating greater awareness of the need for preparedness to meet safety and security challenges.

“We are very grateful to HH Sheikh Mansoor and the UAE authorities including Dubai Police Academy and UAE Civil Defence for their continued support of Intersec, which has played a significant part in our success,” said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of organiser, Epoc Messe Frankfurt. “As the foremost trade fair and conference for security, safety and fire protection in the Middle East, we will continue to work closely with regional authorities in enhancing safety and security awareness.”

Intersec 2013 is likely to attract close to 1,000 exhibitors – a record and significant milestone for the Middle East’s largest and most comprehensive trade platform for security, safety and fire protection. Going by current feedback, organisers expect the exhibition to be 10% larger than the previous edition, as interest in the regional safety and security industry continues to grow.

Intersec 2013 is divided into four sections: Fire & Rescue, Safety & Health, Homeland Security & Policing and Commercial & Information Security. The Fire & Rescue section features products and services for fire prevention & protection, firefighting equipment, emergency alarm & warning systems and rescue equipment.

Commercial Security and Information Security features control & surveillance equipment, access control, monitoring & recording systems and information security products and services while the Safety & Health section showcases Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), environmental protection at work, work safety equipment and health at work.

The Homeland Security & Policing segment, one of the trade fair’s fastest growing, focuses on electronics, laboratory equipment and forensic science, logistics support equipment, mine clearance/bomb disposal, optics, physical security and detection.

The Intersec 2013 Conference will feature an Aviation Security Summit and a Fire Safety, Standards and Regulations Forum. The conference programmes which are highly popular among industry professionals in the region, will feature a range of international experts making presentations on vital safety and security issues.

Intersec 2013 will also feature the popular UAE Firefighters Challenge, which will pit fire and rescue crews from GCC countries and Europe against each other in a series of competitive events. The upcoming edition will have an added feature whereby schools are invited to participate, educating the UAE’s youth on essential fire safety awareness.

Intersec is part of Messe Frankfurt’s global network of security trade fairs which also include Secutech India, Secutech Taiwan, Secutech Thailand, Intersec Buenos Aires, Secutech Vietnam and Seguriexpo Buenos Aires.
