KLUDI RAK, a leading manufacturer of world-class bathroom fittings and a joint venture between RAK Ceramics and high-profile German manufacturer KLUDI, has recently developed a new water-saving system that enables customers to save up to 50 per cent on water consumption.

The introduction of the water-efficient aerators in the UAE coincides with the launch of major water-conservation efforts in the country, particularly the ‘Watersavers’ campaign spearheaded by the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) which will see every tap in Abu Dhabi fitted with water-saving devices within three years.

A key component of KLUDI RAK’s water-saving system is the Pressure Compensating Aerator, which ensures constant flow of water even in cases when water pressure is increased or fluctuates. KLUDI RAK has also developed a new Flow Regulator, which maintains a defined flow rate regardless of pressure variation of the supply line.

Compared with conventional aerators, KLUDI RAK's aerators also deliver several other advantages, including superior lime protection, damage-proof design, extended lifespan, perfect stream quality even under difficult water pressure conditions, and integrated anti-clogging dome screen that filters sediments and particles.

Dr. Khater Massaad, CEO RAK Ceramics said, "It is KLUDI RAK's lifetime commitment to develop, design and manufacture environmentally friendly products that combine technical perfection and high functionality. KLUDI RAK aerators have been meticulously developed to deliver superior performance in all key categories. Sub-standard faucets can potentially cause problems as they could be a breeding ground for germs and bacteria, and may become rusty after a short period of use. With KLUDI RAK's latest innovation, home owners and commercial establishments can truly enjoy clean water and optimum water savings each time they use their faucets."

“We are also pleased to time the introduction of our water-efficient aerators in the UAE with the commencement of ambitious water conservation campaigns such as the one announced by the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi,” he added.

The importance of EAD’s campaign lies in the fact that Abu Dhabi has one of the highest rates of personal water consumption in the world. Residents consumed an average of up to 550 litres of water per person per day with daily activities such as showering, bathing, using toilet facilities and household appliances, washing cars and watering gardens. This rate is almost three times as high as the United Nations benchmark rate of 180 litres per person per day.

KLUDI RAK's aerators have been designed to adjust according to different water pressure levels: low pressure, normal pressure, high pressure or no pressure. The product also offers very low noise levels and does not need to be disassembled for cleaning.

KLUDI RAK's Flow Regulator keeps water flow rate constant, independent of the line pressure, resulting in significant water cost savings while guaranteeing even water distribution. The innovative Flow Regulator is particularly useful in vertical water distribution in a multi-story building or in horizontal water distribution, as it can be easily fitted into a shower head or shower hand spray to deliver a consistent water flow.

KLUDI RAK has been recently granted a membership of the Emirates Green Building Council, which actively promotes green building principles and ensures sustainability in the United Arab Emirates.

KLUDI RAK is a synergetic combination of two leaders in the field of design, manufacturing and marketing: KLUDI, a high-profile German manufacturer in kitchen and bathroom fittings, and RAK Ceramics, the world's largest ceramics manufacturer.
