MAPEI, global leader in the production of adhesives, sealants and chemical products for buildings, has recently announced a new milestone after helping Modern Emirates Heavy Cranes LLC (MEHC) achieve LEED Gold Certification for their newly completed facility. MEHC becomes only the second company in Dubai's TechnoPark to receive such distinction.

MAPEI revealed that its Mapecryl Eco, which is an acrylic adhesive in water dispersion with very low emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC) for textile floor coverings, was instrumental in achieving the coveted LEED Gold certification. After completing all pre-requisites of the LEED certification, MEHC went on to earn a total of 40 points from the design and construction aspects of the LEED rating system. LEED certification rewards best practices in different environmental categories, while encouraging and facilitating the development of more sustainable buildings.

Laith Haboubi, Business Development Director, IBS-MAPEI, said: "The LEED Gold certification achieved by Modern Emirates Heavy Cranes facility underlines MAPEI's unique capability to support our clients in complying with established international standards and securing relevant environmental certifications. This new milestone has also inspired MAPEI to further enhance our efforts in developing a wider range of environmentally responsible and sustainable products that cater to the evolving needs of our customers in the Middle East. We congratulate Modern Emirates Heavy Cranes and its contractor Fabtech Contracting for achieving LEED Gold certification and we look forward to supporting them in any future projects."
