New insulation system for hot water tanks scores with patents.

ECOTHERM has developed an insulation system for hot water tanks from 200 to 20,000 litres capacity with a fibre-fleece insulation and patented closure strips. After more than two years development, the production of the new insulation solution has now expanded into the new production hall at the headquarters in Hartkirchen.

Project engineer Christoph Lehner about the most important advantage: “The insulation system with polyester fiber-fleece provides up to 30 percent less heat loss in standby mode compared to conventional insulations.”

The patented aluminum closure strip enables a simple quick opening of the outer cover by only one person. The newly developed, patented covering rosettes for the terminal sleeves ensure an optimal sealing through their self-locking seat and prevent heat losses at the connections. The food safe outer coat made of PP can be printed individually.

CEO and company founder Herbert Bremstaller adds: “We also offer a complete production system for companies that want to establish an insulation production. For an efficient production at least 5,000 insulations per year are required.”

Unique fibre-fleece insulation
According to Lehner, the new fiber-fleece insulation achieves up to 30 percent less heat loss compared to conventional foam insulations. Fiber-fleece has been used for several years now in the clothing industry and the automotive industry.

The material fits perfectly to the shape of the storage tank. The so-called “chimney effects” can be prevented. Without the use of chemical additives the insulation material is produced from PET bottles and is 100 percent recyclable. The insulation is flame retardant according to DIN 4102-1 in the building material group B2 and if needed also in B1.

Patented closure strips and patented rosettes
The patented closure strip allows for simple quick opening of the outer cover by only one person. Thus, subsequent installations, service and maintenance work can be carried out simply and quickly. “Our newly developed rosette covers for the terminal sleeves ensure through their self-locking seat for optimum sealing and prevent heat losses at the connections,” said Christoph Lehner.

Individualized design printing
ECOTHERM can print the cover individually to the wishes and needs of the customers. This visual improvement is particularly valuable when the containers are placed in visible indoor or outdoor use. The tough outer coat made of PP is food safe, easy to transport and extremely impact resistant.

The advantages at a glance:

  • The best in heat insulation through optimal adjusting of the insulating material to the storage tank
  • Stable, PP outer cover that can be individually printed
  • Patented aluminium closure strip
  • Patented rosettes
  • Sleeve caps to insulate any unused connections
  • Connection cut-out sections optimized to stop any heat losses
  • Environmentally compatible production process with no chemical additives
  • Flame retardant to DIN 4102-1 in the building material groups B2 and if needed also B1
  • Food safe, tough and impact resistant outer cover
  • Outstanding aging resistance
  • Resistant to many acids and alkalis

Complete system for insulation production
ECOTHERM offers companies also complete systems for their own insulation production. The minimum quantity to start a economical production is 5,000 insulations per year.
