After the economic challenges of 2009, the tight budgets and energy imperatives, the construction industries mood is more optimistic with GCC economies forecast to grow 15% in 2010. As the outlook for the sector brightens, there are real positives to talk about and look forward to. Including the landmark event, Arabian Construction Week.

For the first time, the region has an event that mirrors the needs of the construction industry, champion’s excellence across the built environment and unites the entire sector with clients, providing a platform for dialogue, debate and progress.

Underlined by three core themes, sustainability, innovation and development, Arabian Construction Week is an umbrella brand spearheaded by not one but four groundbreaking exhibitions and two major international summits. Reflecting the need to build better, cheaper and greener, hundreds of companies and new product innovations will make their debut at Green Building Middle East, Future Build Middle East, Civil Engineering Middle East and Building Machinery Middle East.

Each distinct show makes product category sourcing easier. Combined, they offer complete market coverage for a wider audience of clients, contractors and specifiers and demonstrate how to apply best practice to do more with less, increase efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of major projects.

Adding further depth and value, Arabian Construction Week’s world class summits set the context for the products on show at the exhibitions.

More than 100 public and private sector leaders, executives and analysts share their insights, discuss and propose solutions to the issues impacting the built environment in the Middle East.

Adopting the theme ‘Growing in a Challenging Market’, MEED’s 3rd Arabian World Construction Summit (AWCS) focuses the attention of senior management and clients on how to take advantage of the recovery, deal with the legacy of the property crash and looks at alternative ways of financing the GCC’s trillion dollar project pipeline.

Sustainability is at the top of the agenda at The Green Building Middle East Summit 2010. Presented by MEED with a special focus day by the Emirates Green Building Council (EGBC) on 26th May, it is a timely chance to track the progress made, explore how sustainability can support profitability, consider the regulatory environment and the future direction needed to achieve a low carbon built environment.

Arabian Construction Week is a landmark series of events, shaping the debate, creating a better understanding of the built environment and steering industry towards a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future.
