Following the enthusiastic response to the series of construction industry seminars held alongside last year's Big 5 exhibition, the programme has been expanded further for the 2006 show, which takes place at Dubai International Exhibition Centre from Saturday October 28th through to Wednesday November 1st.

"Covering a wide range of topics that have particular relevance to the Middle East market, the seminars, which are free to attend, will be presented by leading international experts from all around the world," said Bernard Walsh, Managing Director of dmg world media Dubai, the organisers of the event. "We have worked hard with our exhibitors to create a programme that will help our colleagues in the construction industry keep up to date with the latest developments in an ever evolving sector."

Among the many topics that will be covered are thermal insulation, structural glazing and cladding, new materials and systems, passive cooling & daylight deflection, fire safety, ventilation, corrosion resistant reinforcement and AC systems. The speakers will discuss the latest trends and product innovations that will help the region's construction industry work more efficiently and more securely to deliver ever higher quality results, all key elements in what is the world's most active and competitive construction market.

"The Big 5 brings the best that the world has to offer, in terms of products and services, to the Middle East each year," added Walsh. "These seminars give us the opportunity to allow visitors access to best international working practices, and to discuss new technologies and product innovations that will directly benefit their businesses."

Demand for places at the free seminars, which will be held in rooms A and B above the Sheikh Maktoum Hall, is expected to be very heavy, and visitors are advised to reserve their seats early.

This year will see the largest ever Big 5 exhibition attracting a massive audience that includes the key decision makers from the Middle East's building materials and construction industries. Showcasing building and construction, water technology and environment, air conditioning and refrigeration, cleaning and maintenance, glass and metal, bathrooms ceramics and kitchens, marble and machinery, the Big 5 has the deserved reputation of being the event where major business deals are concluded, and generates business from the UAE, GCC and beyond.

The demand for products within three of the key industry sectors covered at the Big 5 - air conditioning, marble, stone & ceramics and bathrooms & sanitary ware - is higher than ever, leading to an increased presence at this year's show. Internationally acknowledged as the most important meeting place for the regional construction industry, the event attracts key decision makers who have access to millions of dollars for the purchase of the latest technology, products and services.
