Les Billards Bréton were established in Saint Germain en laye, nearby Paris, in 1852. At that time main clients were hotels, restaurants and pubs which rented Carom billiard tables for their customers. In 1947 Roger Marteau and André Bréton went into partnership to strengthen the development of the company which was then experiencing strong growth. A few years later Roger Marteau took over the control of the company with the help of his son Bernard Marteau
In 1976 a new manufacturing facility was built in Orgeval (Yvelines) under the momentum of Jean Claude Marteau (son of Bernard). This new plant allowed the company to increase its market share in large playing rooms and academies whose number increased at a fast pace during 80's and 90's. At that time les Billards Bréton bought out Parisian manufacturer Carrier Laumé.
Since 1852, Billards Bréton tables have been the subject of the same attention, and the same secular gesture has led their destiny. All the steps in our manufacturing process are set to optimize the finishing of our tables. Caution given to the wood selection, choice of the slate quality and of the rubber cushions, strictness brought to the perfect flatness of the gaming area : all these elements take part in the same willingness of quality.
