Bricsys 24/7: next generation AEC collaboration

 

Welcome to Bricsys 24/7!

We are proud to announce the newest addition to the Bricsys product family. We call it Bricsys 24/7, a cloud-based collaboration solution. It was designed to help teams connect in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) business. Bricsys 24/7 is new, but its project management and collaboration tools have been in use for over a decade.

We called Bricsys 24/7’s predecessor Chapoo. In just over 10 years, it served 900,000 users and almost 10,000 projects. Chapoo was used by some of the world’s largest construction and engineering firms. The Antwerp Port House, Belgium’s A11 highway and projects at Brussels International Airport are managed with Bricsys 24/7. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!

BricsCAD BIM uses .dwg, and leverages the power of external references (or XREFs). XREFs are .dwg files that contain the rooms, stories and buildings in a BIM. Sharing a BIM requires a central place to store, administer, version and deliver .dwg files. We added BIM model server technology to the Chapoo foundation, and then completely updated the user interface.

Next, we built a direct connection to 24/7 inside of BricsCAD and BricsCAD BIM. Upload your files to Bricsys 24/7, and the model server automatically manages all XREFs in the model. You can query, merge and filter your view of the BIM, based on your specific needs.

The name is fitting

Bricsys 24/7’s core goal is to deliver cloud-based place for collecting, managing and sharing information – and to be available, 24 by 7. In BIM, this is known as a Common Data Environment, or CDE. You can share any file with role-based permissions and browser-based viewing. 24/7 can display over 70 file types, including 2D and 3D CAD models. Also, you can explore, annotate and dynamically section 3D CAD models in the viewer. And there’s an integrated email client, team calendars and project address books. These features give your team a single platform for project communications.
