Designs Group Highlights New Trends in Hotel Design at INDEX Exhibition

Speaking about the new trends in hotel design at the INDEX exhibition in Dubai, Eng. Mohammad Al-Nadi, CEO of Designs Group, said, “Hotel experience is an integral aspect of travel. The new generation of hotels are shifting from the traditional architecture and layout as well as interior design. While hotel owners’ aim is to maximize efficiencies through design, travellers are increasingly seeking out experiences that connect them to a place. As designers we seek to bridge expectations of both parties. Therefore, modern hotels are being designed to minimize the back of house footprint while providing guests an experiential journey with engaging social spaces. In terms of design the current focus is on connectivity, flexibility, smart technology, entertainment, interactive spaces, lifestyle and authenticity. Hotels are also following more destination-specific design.”

Sustainability continues to be an important consideration for hotels with designers aiming to minimize carbon footprint without sacrificing beauty. According to Eng. Mohammad Al-Nadi, “Sustainability is not something new nor is the inclusion of natural elements in hotel design. Natural lighting and use of organic materials in hotels are all efforts to reconnect with the environment.”

Designs Group, with 13 specialized companies including ProArt Intl, PerfectTech, B2B Hotel Furniture, and other subsidiaries, has to its credit a prestigious list of more than 10,000 clients across the Middle East and Africa region. The group has recently set up a Regional Marketing & Business Development office for B2B Hotel Furniture in Dubai Design District (D3). Eng. Mohammad Al-Nadi, stated, “B2B Hotel Furniture is a furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) as well as operating supplies equipment (OS&E) purchasing firm. It is supported by our specialized sister companies with a strong global procurement network, dedicated factories and offices across key markets in MEA region along with a highly skilled and experienced team of designers, project managers and site engineers.”
