ECturn Inside from GEZE is 'Winner 2014' of the Interior Innovation Award

The automatic swing door drive ECturn Inside from GEZE has been voted “Interior Innovation Award – Winner 2014”. This honour is awarded by the German Design Council on the occasion of the international furnishing show imm cologne.

The Interior Innovation Award is considered one of the most renowned design prizes in the furnishing industry. The prize stands for innovative top performances in all product areas of the industry, with the awards divided into the categories “Selection”, “Winner” and “Best of Best”. Assessment criteria include design quality or functionality and ease of operation.

The international jury is made up of designers as well as representatives from design institutions and the media. All the “Winners”, including the automatic swing door drive ECturn Inside from GEZE, will be presented in a dedicated Interior Innovation Award exhibition during the imm cologne 2014, which will be taking place in Cologne from 13th to 19th January 2014. In a second round, the jury will choose 15 products as the “Interior Innovation Award – Best of Best 2014” from all the “Winners”.

The automatic swing door drive ECturn Inside: Accessibility with aesthetic design
Accessibility and safety – combined with optimum design freedom: this and more is what the new swing door drive ECturn Inside has to offer. Thanks to its small dimensions, the drive can be integrated in the door leaf or in the door frame and thus does not compromise the door’s appearance. The drive can be installed in a wide range of different door leaves with a minimum thickness of 55 millimetres as well as with door leaf widths of up to 1,100 millimetres and weights of up to 125 kg.

A versatile range of special functions such as remote control or acoustic signals meet a wide range of different usage requirements. ECturn Inside can be operated in low-energy and automatic modes. In low-energy mode the drive moves the swing door at reduced speed, thus fulfilling the safety level of DIN 18650. Additional safety sensors can be connected easily thanks to the standard interfaces. In the event of a power failure, an optional rechargeable battery guarantees maximum safety, at the same time the door can be opened manually.
