His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works for the UAE Inaugurates INTERMAT Middle East 2012

The second annual INTERMAT Middle East commenced today at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in UAE, with an official exhibition opening and tour led by His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, UAE.

The region’s largest exhibition for construction equipment, machinery and materials welcomed senior executives from some of the biggest names in the construction world that include: Liebherr, Sennebogen, Miller UK, WireCo World, Erkat, Terex Finlay and many more, all of which participated in the first Investment and Innovation in Construction Summit held by the Ministry of Public Works (MoPW), UAE and the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) for Abu Dhabi.

Today, representatives from the MoPW and DMA provided a comprehensive analysis on the current legal framework and requirements of the country that provide the foundation to build a prosperous UAE.

In addition to providing developers with networking opportunities, the Investment and Innovation Summit will continue on day two of INTERMAT Middle East with speakers focusing on government healthcare projects, building information modeling, the use of cold pavement recycling in rehabilitation of Abu Dhabi roads, sustainable public lighting, the use of recycled aggregate in new road construction and avoiding fires in your façade system.

Among those confirmed to speak, include: Eng. Yousuf Abdulla Ali Abdulla, Deputy Director of Southern Zone, MoPW, UAE; Dr. Ahmed Hassan Ali, Project Design Consultant, Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, UAE; RaminYazdani, Specialist Materials Quality – Municipal Road Infrastructure, Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, UAE and many more.

INTERMAT Middle East is held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, UAE and will end on 10 October 2012.

INTERMAT Middle East 2012, is organised by Comexposium in collaboration with Clarion Events Middle East.The Comexposium group, one of Europe's leading event organisers, is involved in 114 public and professional events, covering 17 industry sectors.
