Increasing green initiatives in the Gulf lead to higher use of wood

European and US woodwood companies are looking into the Middle East to maximise sales of their products across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) market.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of the Dubai WoodShow 2016 being held at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.. The US and European companies are catering for the demand for hardwood in the Middle East that is being a major timber consuming market.

The legal use of Timber was also a major highlight on the second day as well as participants stressed that increasing green initiatives taken in the Gulf has led to the higher use of wood.

Day two of the show witnessed turn out of architects, interior designers, furniture manufacturers, representatives of associations and commercial boards, as well as a large number of trade visitors.

Positioned as the biggest specialised wood trade show, The Dubai Woodshow is an annual meeting point for producers, manufacturers, importers, exporters, dealers, suppliers and other players in the wood industry.

The products showcased in the exhibition include wood, woodworking machinery, blades, knives, tools, abrasives and other related products.
