About Mas Paints - Marmorino
Mas Paints - Marmorino
Marmorino is well known as a classic Venetian plaster. Widely used in Italy, its appeal had spread through North America especially, but now worldwide. Because of the hours of workmanship, the pricing places it in the high-end market. However, many examples can be seen in public buildings, bars, restaurants, etc. It is based on a 12th century technique, used by the Venetians to incorporate art into building design. It has been developed from mineral lime, marble dust, natural pigment plus additives and modernized to suit today’s design without losing the quality of the traditional product. Although today’s designs can dictate colour and texture, the basic formula has been retained to create a spectrum of color ranging from a natural stone to any preferred color.
In Mas Paints, we offer Marmorino Natural, which is made up of natural marble dust in a paste form with only its natural colors available. Marmorino Classic is the collection where the classic effect and tradition from historical times is offered. Then there are the four (4) bases of Marmorino: Smooth, Fine, Medium and Rough. Any of these bases could be selected and then a wide range of color is available. This product has to be applied with a stainless steel trowel because it is a thick paint. Different designs are possible using different tools, for example, Travertino design is usually recommended. It is available in 25kg pail. The coverage is 0.5 to 1 square meter per kilogram. Two (2) coats are suggested to achieve the perfect finish. Application of wax is recommended as the last step for Marmorino. Wax, due to its penetration and good spreading over the surface of this material, gives excellent protection from moisture, dust and enhances the colour, design and gives an extra shine on the surface.
Marmorino could be applied to walls, ceilings, columns, and other curved surfaces, leaving a joint-free finish. Lightweight surface, maximum 3mm thick, enable architects to make considerable cost savings on basic construction costs. Each finish is individually designed to suit the tastes and requirements of the designers. It is environment-friendly since it respects the EU legislation in terms of VOC limits.
