Over US$ 98 billion projects to be explored during this year's ME Pool and Spa.

The GCC construction market has currently been estimated at 260 billion dollars with more than 500 projects being planned or in process. Over 130 projects have been set to cater for the hospitality industry and more than 319 villa projects have been valued at 118 billion dollars.

With these projects in development, the UAE takes the lead accounting for 37.69% of the total GCC developments value according to Ventures Middle East, the Construction Intelligence Partner of ME Pool and Spa 2012, the number 1 event dedicated to the pool and spa industry.

In its 5th edition, the Middle East Pool and Spa Exhibition will set the ideal networking platform for architects, designer, developers, hotels and home owners to engage with industry leaders while looking at some of the latest technologies, innovations and solutions in the market.

Over 30 participating companies have already signed on to this leading Pool and Spa event in the MENA region, being held from the 24th – 26th of September at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. In addition to the exhibition, Me Pool and Spa 2012 offers its attendees the unique opportunity to take part in its launch of Ventures Projects and the first edition of the Me Pool and Spa Conference.

With the success of the Innovation Podium, launched during the last edition of Me Pool and Spa, a platform offering exhibitors the opportunity to present their innovations and latest technologies; Me Pool and Spa in cooperation with Ventures Middle East will present Ventures Projects during this 5th edition. Dedicated to the pool industry specialists and developers, Ventures Projects will offer participants a wealth of insights and news highlights on the regional market by discussing planned construction projects and those in process.

The forum will show case some of the 300 projects planned in the UAE, valued at US$ 98 billion, of which 80 are villas and compounds and 70 hotels and resorts. It will offer design and architectural companies the opportunity to display their projects and enter the Innovation in Design Award and the Innovation for Eco-friendly Projects Award being organized by the UAE Engineering Committee.

Held in conjunction to the exhibition, the Me Pool and Spa Conference will be organized by the UAE Society of Engineers in association with Reed Exhibitions Middle East. The conference will feature sessions on pool design and innovation, landscape, designing and building and managing facilities to maintenance. It will also offer its attendees solutions and insights on water treatment, risk assessment, safety and accessibility.

The conference has also been designed to cater for the design aspect of pools from techniques on renovating and modernising existing pools, colours and innovations to the state-of-the-art green pools; their design and construction. In addition to the conference, the UAE Society of Engineers in conjunction with Reed Exhibitions will be announcing during the event the winners of “The Best Practice in Pool Industry in the UAE Awards”, a prestigious international award celebrating the tangible achievements in innovative designs and ideas in the pool and spa industry in the UAE.

According to the study by Alpen Capital, the GCC Hospitality Industry, hotel projects throughout the region, under construction and due for completion in 2013-14 are expected to be around US$ 7 billion. Huge investments are being directed towards hospitality infrastructure, travel and tourism capital investment is expected to rise by 8.5% in 2012, and rise by 4.8% pa over the next ten years to USD65.8bn in 2022.

Marriott International has bound to open 42 new hotels in the MENA region over the next three years. Dusit is planning to open at least 15 hotels in the GCC and Middle East alone by 2015. Major projects in the region currently include Rotana Hotel at Abu Dhabi, Grand Hayatt Hotel in Jeddah, Missoni Hotel in Doha, Hayatt Regency in Jeddah and Park Hayatt in Riyadh.

These investments create vast opportunities for hospitality construction companies and their suppliers, making Me Pool and Spa a pivotal event for the pool and spa industry bursting with innovations from the industry’s top suppliers and project owners and developers.
