Construction Details
The luminaire consists of a die-cast aluminium control gear housing and spun aluminium reflector or injection moulded acrylic prismatic reflector and is designed to operate 250/400W mercury vapour, 150/250/400/600/1000W high-pressure sodium and 250/400/600/1000W metal halide elliptical lamps.
SABS Marks
The luminaire bears the SANS 475 mark and the SANS 60598- 2-1 safety mark.
Ingress Protection
The luminaire has a degree of protection that complies with SANS 60598-2-1:
Enclosed reflector: IP 65
The IP rating is certified by an SABS test report.
Control Gear Compartment
The control gear compartment is manufactured from high-pressure die-cast aluminium for good heat dissipation.
The lid is held captive by a removable wish-bone spring when opened.
Reflector System - Aluminium
The reflector system is manufactured of brightened and anodised aluminium.
The reflector is mounted onto the control gear housing via two key hole slots.
The reflector neck has five large punched holes to provide an uplight component and ensure a cool ambient temperature at the lampholder.
It is available in either an open or enclosed version, the latter having a glass or polycarbonate lens spun into the reflector (IP 55 version).
It provides uniform and low glare lighting with a light output efficiency of more than 85%.
Reflector System - Techno
• The facetted reflector system is manufactured by a special “ALPAK” brightening process.
• The reflector is mounted onto the control gear housing via two keyhole slots.
• It is available in either an open or enclosed version (IP 65 version).
• The enclosed version is closed by means of glass within a hinged frame, held by two clips to the reflector.
• It provides uniform and low glare lighting with a light output efficiency of more than 85%.
Reflector System - Reflexor®
The Acrylic Reflexor®, when required, is a precisely formed prismatic reflector which refracts and reflects the light rays in carefully controlled directions.
It is available in either an open or enclosed version (IP 54 version).
Electrical Components
It is suitable for operation with the specified rating of the lamp on a 230V +3%/-10% 50Hz single phase system.
The luminaire is power factor corrected to a minimum of 0,9.
