Shenzhen's sustainable skyscraper in China to feature KONE's people flow solutions
KONE, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, will deliver 28 eco-efficient elevators to Shenzhen International Energy Mansion, the new headquarters of Shenzhen Energy Group, the largest state-owned enterprise in Shenzhen. KONE was chosen as key equipment supplier for its ability to meet the requirements of the design specifications and its high-level focus on eco-efficiency.
Designed by world-renowned architecture firms BIG and ARUP, Shenzhen International Energy Mansion will include two 218m and 116m tall towers and its total construction area will be 143,000 square meters. Planned to withstand the tropical climate of the city, the building complex will feature a unique 'folding façade' system that shades the interior from the sun. With this environmentally intelligent design and KONE's sustainable people flow solutions, Shenzhen International Energy Mansion will become a new benchmark for sustainable office buildings in the city.
Shenzhen International Energy Mansion will feature 28 eco-efficient KONE MiniSpace(TM) elevators and remote KONE E-Link(TM) monitoring system which connects the elevators to the building's facility management system. Located in the central political, cultural and business district of the city, the building is due for completion in 2017.
"We are proud that our people flow solutions will be featured in these modern eco-towers to ensure the best possible flow of workers and visitors," says William B. Johnson, Executive Vice President for KONE Greater China.
