Early on the need for standardization was recognized and NEMA VE-1 metal cable tray standard was published in the early 60’s. NEMA VE-1 has been updated many times; TMI cable trays conform to all NEMA VE-1 standards referring to definitions of cable trays, fittings, connectors and accessories.
