The International Furniture & Design Exhibition, Conference and Awards (INFDEX 08), Qatar's largest furniture and design show, has signed an agreement with Support Sponsor HandMade the exclusive agent for Oikos Paints to participate with the show's first ever completely environment-friendly exhibition stand.
In addition, INFDEX 08 organizer Qatar Expo and Oikos Paints will, for the first time at a Middle East show, support exhibitors with eco-friendly materials and a long term plan to develop environmentally friendly exhibition concepts.
“The design industry is increasingly adopting eco-friendly practices and materials that reduce our environmental impact. Qatar Expo is delighted to partner with Oikos Paints to become pioneers for consideration and support of the environment by the exhibition industry,” commented Qatar Expo Director of Exhibitions, Fernando De Guama.

INFDEX 08 features a 4-day exhibition, 2-day design conference and, for the first time in 2008, the INFDEX Awards. Showcasing the latest interior and exterior designs, antiques, furniture, kitchen designs and textiles with 200 exhibitors from 18 countries, INFDEX 08 takes place at New Qatar International Exhibition Centre from 18th to 21st May.
INFDEX will shortly announce details of the unique INFDEX Awards designed to celebrate creativity and innovation among exhibitors. Among the awards on offer will be the Oikos-sponsored ‘Best Young Designer’, recognizing young Qatari design talent and offering a major prize to help the winner bring their design to life.
