EG&G Middle East was incorporated late 1999 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as a joint-venture with EG&G Inc., a US based leader and an early pioneer in developing non-intrusive cargo x-ray inspections systems for customs and security applications.

Over the years, EG&G Inc., was involved in a series of amalgamations including a name change to PerkinElmer; where in 2001 the founding Saudi partners of EG&G Middle East chose to acquire 100% of all the outstanding shares of the joint-venture. The x-ray division of PerkinElmer (formerly EG&G Inc.) was also later acquired by L-3 Communications Corp., which today is considered a leading innovator in this field. EG&G Middle East is currently L-3's sole distributor of, among other offerings, cargo x-ray systems throughout most of the Middle East region.

Capitalizing on the demanding security and defense markets in the region as well as on winning sizable projects, EG&G Middle East endeavored on implementing a streamlined, yet aggressive, development and growth strategy. Today, the company offers highly-sophisticated, uniquely-engineered systems and services to fulfill the escalating need for efficient, reliable and cost-effective security and defense solutions in a region where the business environment is characterized by perhaps an even greater uncertainty than at any other time in the past.

The company's corporate headquarters continues to be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. However, in 2004 EG&G Middle East inaugurated its Dubai office to become the regional hub for customers in the United Arab Emirates and neighboring countries.
