Glass Cubes at the BLOX waterfront project in Copenhagen

In the Danish capital of Copenhagen, Lindner realised the interior fit-out in the multifunctional building BLOX designed by the Dutch architectural practice OMA. The glass cubes host i. a. the Danish Architecture Center (DAC), co-working spaces and apartments.

The glass façade of the BLOX, which is located on the city island Slotsholmen, reflects the water and the surrounding buildings. Inside there are well-attended exhibitions of the Danish Architecture Center. But there are other tenants in the multifunctional building, too: A gym, a restaurant, a café, a bookstore, a playground and an underground car park complement the office space and apartments.

As part of the fit-out works, Lindner was able to install acoustic and thermal insulations, drywall installations, glass partition systems - supplemented by glass, steel and wooden doors - as well as floor and chilled ceiling systems. The floor system FLOOR and more® hydro was installed in the 22 apartments overlooking the water. In the office rooms on the second and third floor, on the other hand, the floor system NORTEC was used, which is equipped with, among other things, an oak covering.

The glass partition system Lindner Life 622 provides spatial separation, while the chilled ceiling Plafotherm® KN ensures the correct temperature. As requested by the architects, a number of special systems were developed for the BLOX, including a variety of metal claddings with perforations for the ceilings and walls of the exhibition area of the DAC. Among other things, the systems are used for the suspension of exhibits. The Danish fire safety requirements were also implemented in close cooperation with the authorities.
